About New York

Details

What is the New York font?

Apple system font designed as a bitmap by Susan Kare. Its name is probably a loose reference to Times Square, New York, a location of no relevance to the design, a low-resolution interpretation of Times New Roman. More recently the design has been made into an scalable TrueType font by the Bigelow and Holmes studio, but the bitmaps produced at small sizes are identical to Kare’s.
