What is the Times® Ten font?

Times Ten is the ten-point design of Times Roman (Times Roman is the Linotype version of Monotype’s Times New Roman).
In hot metal type, for the purpose of readability, there is a different design for each point size: twelve-point is slightly different from ten-point, which is slightly different from nine-point. Most text types that made the transition from metal to photo and then to digital typesetting technologies were converted using the twelve-point design as the master (this is the case, for example, with Adobe’s core font, Times Roman). Times Ten is very legible at small sizes and so is good for classified advertising, and other fine-print needs, such as contracts.

Is Times® Ten A free font? Is Times® Ten Free to Download?
