About Stretto™

Details

What is the Stretto™ font?

Stretto (Italian for narrow) is a revival and expansion of an Aldo Novarese font called Sintex, done for VGC in 1973. Openly idiosyncratic and rebellious in its design idea, Stretto fuses the straights and rounds together in a most unusual manner, playing on the idea of hand-made sign letters yet still adhering to the odd grid’s parameters. In spite of its counter-stress, its legibility is high and even, helped by its unicase forms and very distinct counters. More… Stretto comes in all popular font formats, and boasts an expanded character set supporting Western, Central and Eastern European languages, as well as Greek. A few alternate forms are also included.
