About Luzaine™

Details

What is the Luzaine™ font?

Luzaine is a slightly rounded sans-serif face; and to give a more even distribution of emphasis the difference between thick and thin strokes in this font is minimised to a certain extent. We think this helps make it attractive and slightly different. Luzaine has 8 weights - there’s Regular and Bold versions of Light, Regular, Heavy and Ultra, plus their 8 italics versions. The weight increases between Light, Light-Bold and Regular are smaller than those for the heavier styles, (about half) to give subtler distinction when selecting between those finer text weights. Most versions are fairly loosely spaced, but Ultra-Bold is more closely spaced than the rest. More… Using some nifty programming you can easily call up 60 arrows as ligatures, (5 thicknesses in the 8 main directions, straight arrows; and 5 thicknesses in the 4 main directions, right-angled) 25 different sized ovals, bubbles, loops, boxes and zigzags, and there’s 20 ligatures for common abbreviations like St. Rd. Mr. Bvd. and Scottish Mc and automatic ligatures for every ordinal number (such as 1st. 2nd. 100th. 999,999th.) The zip file contains the details for all these, most do it automatically, the others are very easy to do. And this font’s Menu Names have been numbered from 1 to 4 (for increasing weight from 1 Light to 4 Ultra) for ease of use by putting them in the right order in the menu, which we find very useful. The zips contain both OTF and TTF versions - install either OTF or TTF, but not both, on the same machine.
