What is the Club Type® font?
Club Type is indeed mercurial - animated and lively. Designer Adrian Williams’ typeface has the flowing appearance of a script face, but the readability of a roman. His inspiration was the lettering used for cartoon captions in the Mercurius Aulicus, England’s first regular newspaper, from 1642 to 1647. The typeface that described the “affaires” of the royal court during the English Civil War will attract just as much attention when used in a modern setting. The light weight works well as an informal text face, while the medium and black weights enliven headlines and display text on posters, Web sites, and signage.
